Talks about wig installations that have gone wrong erupted after a woman shared her experience of her R500 wig installation lifting.

TikTok creator @sofiavezi posted a video showing users what her wig installation looked like five hours after paying the hairdresser R500.

In the video, the creator went to a hairstylist to install her wig for her graduation. Given the process it takes to install a wig, she was shocked that the installation was done quickly and her wig was not sectioned and straightened properly.

When getting your wig installed your hair is supposed to be intact for about a few days or even two weeks if done correctly. Although wig installations should be intact that long, one needs to remember to always maintain their hair properly by brushing it, straightening it, as well as adding necessary moisturisers.

She posted the video with the caption, “Girl didn’t even straighten my hair in sections. She just did this very fast.”

Many TikTok users were shocked that the creator paid so much money for a wig installation that didn’t even last that a day.

One user asked what currency the 500 bucks was in.

Another user commented: “One thing about lace and foundation is that it will cause your lace to lift.”

Another commenter asked users not to discredit the creator for having a bad experience with the hairstylist.
