Makeup routines require one to be equipped and the process behind achieving more seamless or dramatic makeup looks, where blending your makeup properly makes for a better look.

The blending process is usually the process that you cannot go without and even if done wrong can make you look like a clown, because most people use makeup to enhance their looks it is important that you can blend properly and cover up marks etc.

CEO of Beautyblender, Rea Ann Silva says, “You want your complexion products to be undetectable and seamlessly blend into your skin.” She also emphasises the importance of blending cosmetics for a finished look, adding that, blending over lines of distinction and neglecting the neck to achieve a seamless and natural foundation.

Here’s how to achieve a seamless look using blending techniques:

Blend using a sponge: Beauty hub, Otis Batterbee states that when blending with a sponge you need to dampen (spray your setting spray) to avoid too much product absorption. Apply foundation or concealer directly to the skin or back of your hand, then blend with a dabbing motion. The beauty hub advises focusing on one blending sport at a time.

Blend with a brush: The blending brush technique is one of the easiest methods as you use it for your blush, bronzer and eyeshadow. Instyle, beauty hub, states that you need to first apply the product on your hand and then to your brush to achieve a seamless look. Also, remember to blend in circular motions to bring all products together.

Blend using your fingers: Makeup artist Ciara Glionna suggests, “Cream and liquid products blend amazingly with your fingers, but remember to use less than you would with a brush or sponge because no product will get absorbed into the tool.”
