South African fashion designer, Thebetsile ‘Thebe’ Magugu took to his X (formerly Twitter) to share his gratitude to those who were in attendance when he introduced Magugu House recently.

The grand opening of Magugu House, archived by the Manor and supported by Moet & Chandon; took place at the Dunkeld suburb in Johannesburg, the house will serve as a physical archive of the house’s pioneering collections and Thebe’s intricate research and design process.

The South African fashion darling recently launched the collection titled ‘Heritage III: Lobola Negotiations’ with iconic celebrities.

Thebe explained Magugu House and shared his hearty appreciation on X saying:

Introducing Magugu House
“I have always loved the idea of pouring all our collections, installations, events & projects into one space, and Magugu House becomes exactly that – an institution solidifying our universe…” (continued below) pic.twitter.com/zJr4CFxifD

“I started Thebe Magugu as an afro-encycopaedic look at key histories and heritage from the continent; with collections named after university subjects as a closer study. In that regard, Magugu House becomes the first ‘campus’”. pic.twitter.com/DyC4eteHK6
