South Africa hosts Politix, a prominent Australian clothing brand for men

Australian menswear brand Politix has officially entered the South African market through a partnership with Woolworths, marking a significant expansion for the label known for its sharp tailoring and contemporary style. The brand, part of the Country Road Group owned by Woolworths Holdings Limited, opened its first South African stores in October 2024 at the Mall of Africa, Fourways, and Rosebank.

With over 40 years of heritage, Politix has built a reputation in Australia for offering fashion-forward menswear that combines expert tailoring with modern design. The brand targets fashion-conscious men aged 18 to 35, providing a range of clothing from sharp suits suitable for the boardroom to stylish casual wear.

The launch in South Africa is part of Woolworths Holdings Limited’s strategy to diversify its brand portfolio and strengthen its presence in the southern hemisphere. The acquisition of Politix in 2016 added to WHL’s existing Australian brands, including David Jones, Country Road, Witchery, Trenery, and Mimco.

Politix’s entry into the South African market comes at a time when Woolworths is seeking to revitalise its fashion offerings amid challenging retail conditions. The company has faced a decline in profits due to weak sales and increased competition from international online retailers.

Despite these challenges, the introduction of Politix aims to offer South African consumers a new destination for ready-to-wear menswear that emphasises quality, style, and comfort. The brand’s commitment to helping men express their individuality through fashion aligns with the diverse and vibrant culture of South Africa.

Customers can explore the Politix collection online at Woolworths.co.za or visit the newly opened stores for a personalised shopping experience with expert styling advice.

As Politix establishes its presence in South Africa, it aims to become a leading destination for men’s fashion, offering a wardrobe that combines the ultimate fit with elevated personal style.
