Afro is defined as a naturally thick hair, most black people grow it naturally without using chemicals on their hair.

This hair is referenced to be a crown for black people who embrace and grow it naturally, although it is known to be a crown, maintaining and styling often makes it difficult for most women.

Perhaps before we look into hairstyles we can take a look at easy ways how to maintain it,  According to The South African you can follow this simple routine:

  • Wash your hair at least once a week, water is your best friend.
  • Use a conditioner to prevent knots, specifically made for natural hair .
  • Look for oil treatment thats specifically made for afro hair, this will help with dryness, keep it glossy and hydrated.

We have seen international actress, Thuso Mbedu, rocking her afro many ways, however, she looks exceptionally beautiful rocking the short afro haircut. A hairstyle you can do and that works all around the year.
