If you believe changing your hair color is therapeutic and you do it often, here are some pros and cons suggested by Haircut Instructions and Inova Professional to keep in mind.

According to Haircut Instructions- a online publication that gives tools to discover rich and vibrant hair, these are the pros.

Change look: Dyeing your hair can gives you an opportunity to change your look. A new hair color is an easy way to switch up your appearance as it can also be a great way to express yourself or make a fashion statement.

Cover-up gray hairs: As people grow older, hair starts to turn gray or white. While other people take this as a sign of maturity, it is an unwelcomed change for others. Dyeing your hair can help with maintaining the youthful appearance which can help you feel confident.

Add vibrancy and shine: When the hair  starts to become dull and lack luster, dyeing can be a way to help with restoring the natural beauty and shine of your hair. This can also make it look and feel healthier.

Here are the cons of dyeing your hair according to a hair care website that is dedicated to redefining the standards of beauty and hair health, Inova Professional :

Can damage the hair: The chemicals in the hair dye can strip the natural oils and proteins from hair, causing it to be brittle and prone to breakage. It can also split the hair ends making it difficult to go back to the hair’s normal state.

Expensive to maintain: Depending on the type of dye you are using and hair care routine, maintaining hair dye can be expensive as you might need 4-6 weeks to touch up the color.

Time consuming: While dyeing is costly, you also need to set aside time every once in a while, so that you can touch up your roots. This can be a hassle for someone who has a busy schedule.
