Hair oils are the new IT thing. Whether you have relaxed or natural hair, they are worth investing in as they contain essential nutrients to promote healthy growth. Grace Mantjiu, explains how treating your hair properly with oils weekly will gradually transform it. Oils are fantastic multitaskers. Whether you have relaxed or natural hair, they are worth investing in as they contain essential nutrients to promote healthy growth. Here are some of the fantastic multitasking oils uses:

– Ideal for detangling wet hair.
– Great heat protectants.
– DIY hair treatments: simply mix three or more different oils in a bowl and use before or after shampooing your hair.
– Stimulate blood circulation to your scalp. A dry scalp can prevent blood from flowing to your hair follicles.

But, with plenty of hair oils on the market, it can be confusing which one to use. Here is a round-up of the beneficial ones to look out for:

Coconut oil – This is the ultimate all-rounder! It helps stimulate hair growth and nourish both hair and scalp.
Argan oil – Rich in fatty acids and vitamin E, it improves hair strength and elasticity while reducing loss. Avocado oil – Has anti-inflammatory properties that help treat the scalp. It also moisturises
it and helps prevent dandruff.
Jojaba oil – Helps maintain a healthy scalp and unblocks pores.
Castor oil – Is packed with omega-6 fatty acids, minerals and protein to stimulate hair growth.
Macadamia oil – Great for reviving dull and frizzy hair, this non-greasy oil adds shine while coating ends. It also moisturises the scalp. ALMOND OIL – Contains omega-3 fatty acids and other healthy ingredients to treat hair loss.
Marula oil – Has high
levels of vitamin C that help enrich and protect your hair. It also restores damaged hair.
Olive oil– Helps reduce
hair stress and gives elasticity.
