In a world where women are increasingly taking charge of their health and well-being, GynaGuard has unveiled its dynamic trio of brand ambassadors, affectionately known as the ‘GynaGals’. As embodiments of empowerment, confidence, and education, they stand tall in a mission that transcends conventional ambassadorship.

GynaGuard has always believed that feminine wellness is not just in a product; it’s about community, a sisterhood of women who support, uplift, and empower each other. The ‘GynaGals’ epitomise this ethos, bringing to life the spirit of women who are confident, empowered, and proactive about their well-being.

Thuli: Fearless Dreamer and Advocate

From picturesque Cape Town, comes Nokuthula ‘Thuli’ Sandile – an administrator by profession and an entrepreneur with a passion for advertising and fashion. Her life journey is a testament to her boundless drive and unwavering commitment to chasing her dreams.

For Thuli, feminine hygiene is more than a routine; it’s about self-confidence, feeling unapologetically free in one’s skin, and embracing every facet of oneself. Her vision for the platform is rooted in inclusivity. Thuli passionately advocates for open conversations that transcend boundaries, involving not just women but also men and teenagers.

In her own words, “I would like to add more openness to the conversation around feminine hygiene and women’s bodies. Some women do not feel comfortable talking about these things in front of their boy children or even their partners. We need to involve everyone when we have these conversations so we can normalise them. We should talk openly in the workplace, in communities, with the young people in our lives, and even on social media.”

Hlengz: The Endometriosis Warrior

Based in the north of Johannesburg is Hlengiwe ‘Hlengz’ Shakung – a digital marketer and designer with a heart dedicated to women’s health and wellness. Her journey is deeply intertwined with her advocacy, as she lives with endometriosis, a condition that affects countless women in this country and worldwide. Hlengz’s commitment to empowerment led her to establish a blog and Instagram platform focused on uplifting women in the realm of endometriosis and feminine health.

Her inspiration stems from her personal struggles, and she aims to use the GynaGals platform to amplify her message of empowerment. She envisions creating more profound and impactful conversations, striving to provide girls and women with the education and information they need.

She is an advocate for open dialogue, stressing, “I want girls and women to feel free to express themselves without being silenced. There are so many women’s issues that are just not talked about, and I think this contributes to why feminine health matters aren’t given the attention they need.”

Danica: Celebrating Beauty, Inside and Out

From the city of Cape Town, meet Danica, an outgoing and multi-faceted personality who owns a hair and beauty studio, where she transforms women daily, helping them look and feel their best. Beyond her thriving business, Danica is deeply connected to her community. She is also qualified in child psychology as a play therapist.

Danica’s vision for the platform is rooted in empowerment through language. She intends to empower women, especially within the Afrikaans community, by breaking down taboos and cultural barriers. She believes that when you speak to someone in their own language, the message becomes more powerful, and change becomes more accessible.

Danica’s powerful assertion resonates, “If we want to be all about body positivity and femininity, we can’t do that unless we love what our body does naturally. I want people to know that it’s OK – this is my body; it cleans itself, it loves itself, and we should love that as well.”
