The Matric Dance (MD) season never fails to capture Mzansi’s attention. This is because grade 12 learners are afforded a chance to let loose and be rewarded for their hard work.

Many schools host their matric dance celebrations  either in the first term or towards the end of the year. Although the peak of the season may have passed, we are left with inspiration, admiration and memories of the many unbelievably beautiful dresses and hairstyles.

We have compiled some of the best looks that had tongues wagging on social media platforms, with some grateful that they finished school a while ago because of how breathtaking the MD outfits looked.

In no particular order, here are some of the MD looks that stole the show.

@kopano.spams looked gorgeous in her silver custom-made dress. Her look was so stunning that some suggested it would fit perfectly on a reunion episode of The Real Housewives.

@ingiphile.shabb had a rather sad experience caused by her designer who delayed the delivery of the dress, leading to her missing her matric dance. She expressed that she was disappointed because she looked forward to enjoying the night with her peers. Inspired by Shaka iLembe, the black and gold dress was nothing short of breathtaking.

Palesa stole the show with her silver gown which she paired with a black clutch bag.

@confixv who went for the look of Black Barbie looked stunning in her pink gown.

Lastly, this TikTok user looked stunning in her red gown that had protection for the sun. Her look was so extravagant that she had many thinking she was going to the Durban July.
