Kitchen ingredients that do wonders on your skin

by Unathi Balele
When it comes to skincare, there’s no shortage of products on the market promising to give you glowing, healthy-looking skin. However, did you know that some of the best ingredients for your skin might be hiding in your kitchen?
Here are some common kitchen ingredients by Makeup and Beauty that can work wonders for your skin:
Honey
Honey is a natural humectant, meaning it helps to lock in moisture and keep your skin hydrated. It’s also rich in antioxidants, which can help to protect your skin from damage caused by free radicals. Applying honey directly to your skin can help to soothe and nourish it, leaving it feeling soft and supple.
Turmeric
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties and can help to brighten and even out your skin tone. Mix a small amount of turmeric with honey or yogurt and apply it to your skin as a mask to help improve its appearance.
Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is a great moisturizer and can help to soothe and nourish dry, irritated skin. It’s also rich in lauric acid, which can help to kill acne-causing bacteria.

Cinnamon
Cinnamon has antibacterial properties and can help to unclog pores and prevent acne. Mix a small amount of cinnamon with honey and apply it to your skin as a mask to help keep it clear and healthy.
Egg Whites
Egg white is another wonder ingredient that beautifies your skin – not just by lightening the marks but also by tightening your skin. All you need to do is break one egg, separate the white from the yolk and apply the white part on the affected area. Keep it on as a mask for around 15 minutes and then rinse off with plain water. The protein and nutrients in the egg help in removing the pimple marks over time.
