How to make your beauty products last longer

Beauty items can be expensive, we are all aware of this.

Our favourite beauty purchases may undoubtedly be expensive, whether you’re spending a lot of money on a high-end foundation or a lavish moisturiser. But what if we told you that you could get more value for your money by making a few easy changes?

Yes, exactly! When you understand how to extend the shelf life of your skincare and makeup products, you won’t need to buy new ones all the time. Imagine your foundation being in good condition for weeks or that pricey serum lasting twice as long. It all comes down to understanding how to use, store, and care for your things properly.

Miloon claims, “Some products can benefit by being placed in the refrigerator, especially products containing vitamin C. Keeping products cool on the fridge can help to improve their shelf life. But be careful not to keep them in freezing temperatures, since it can have the opposite effect! You can also put your toner, face mist or Sheet masks in the fridge if you want to have a cooling effect. It also helps to fight for large pores or blemishes.”

According to Stor-Age, moisture damages cosmetic products by encouraging the growth of bacteria and causing them to break down. Keep them in dry cabernets or airtight containers. Direct sunlight can accelerate ageing, degrade active chemicals, and reduce the brilliance of solid cosmetics like lipstick.

If you want your makeup to survive, you must be organised. Some of us are guilty of putting it in a bag that looks more like a toy box for a two-year-old than a vanity case. You can arrange your products in a variety of ways to keep them in good condition, from clear trays to modular organisers, the above website adds.
