As spring makes itself known, it’s about time we start to embrace the lighter, more breathable fabrics for the warmer months. While floral prints and pastel colours often take center stage during this season, there’s one timeless wardrobe staple that should never be overlooked – denim.

Denim is versatile, comfortable, and effortlessly chic, making it the perfect fit for your spring wardrobe. From the key denim silhouettes to cool blue jeans outfits being the fashion flavour of the season, there are some major spring denim trends for 2023.

Dressing denim for spring

Here’s your guide in dressing denim in spring:

Lightweight denim

Spring is all about comfort and, you can achieve it without sacrificing style by opting for lightweight denim. Look for denim with a lighter weight as opposed to the heavier winter varieties. Lightweight denim not only keeps you comfortable but also allows for better breathability on those warmer spring days.

Classic denim jeans

Start with the basics – a pair of classic denim jeans. Light washes, such as faded blue or pastel shades, are perfect for spring. Pair them with a simple white tee and sneakers for a laid-back yet fashionable look. White jeans have become an unexpected failsafe in the wardrobes of fashion’s favourite It-girls over the last few years.

The low rise, loose and relaxed silhouettes is continuing. This spring also marked the official send-off of the skinny jean, with baggy jeans stepping in as the welcome replacement.

Styles that are trending:

  • The barrel leg
  • The mom jeans
  • The boyfriend cut
  • The wide leg

Denim jacket

A denim jacket is a must-have in a woman’s wardrobe but your new favourite spring essential. Whether you choose a cropped or oversized style, it is the perfect jacket for cooler spring evenings.

Maxi denim skirts

Denim isn’t limited to just pants and jackets, denim skirts are excellent options for spring.
