Fashion hacks to look expensive on a budget

by Unathi Balele

It is definitely possible to look expensive on a budget. With a little creativity, some strategic shopping, and a few styling tips, you can elevate your look without breaking the bank.

Here are some fashion hacks to help you look expensive on a budget:

  • Invest in classic, timeless pieces: Classic pieces like a well-fitted blazer, a little black dress, a trench coat, or a pair of high-quality leather shoes can instantly elevate your look and make you appear more expensive. These pieces can be worn season after season and never go out of style.
  • Pay attention to fit: Clothes that fit well will always look more expensive than those that don’t. Make sure your clothes fit properly and have them tailored if necessary. A well-fitted garment can make even inexpensive clothes look expensive.
  • Accessorise wisely: Everyone loves a good accessory moment, however, it’s important to know how to do it, you do not want to under nor overdo it. Accessories like a statement necklace, a classic watch, or a quality handbag can make a big impact on your outfit. Choose pieces that are timeless and versatile so that you can wear them with multiple outfits.
  • Embrace neutral colours: Basics, basics, basics!!! To make your look expensive you need to get the basics right. Neutral colours like black, white, grey, and beige are classic and timeless. They also give off an air of sophistication and make it easier to mix and match pieces in your wardrobe.
