5 Tips when changing your skincare routine this autumn

A new season equals a new skincare routine, that’s girl maths, right? Changing your skincare routine this autumn is important, especially if you have skin flare-ups every new season.

LovelySkin, a skincare hub, says longer sleeves and nutrient-dense skincare products are essential when it comes to protecting your skin against the cold, while also adapting to a skincare routine for autumn. To properly manage seasonal changes, the skincare hub suggests replacing lighter products with ones that are higher in nutrients.

Dr Joel Schlessinger, CEO of LovelySkin, emphasises that autumn brings with it a drier climate because of things like lower humidity and indoor heating. To avoid worsening skin disorders such as psoriasis or eczema, he suggests adjusting skincare regimens.

Seasonal changes come with numerous skin-related problems, such as dehydration, thinning from external factors, and dullness. However, according to IOL, you can maintain the health of your complexion by defeating all these challenges that come with it and employing the proper skincare products and practices.

The above-mentioned source provides five tips to change your skincare routine in autumn:

  1. Use a moisturiser daily to keep your complexion smooth and hydrated.
  2. For the best hydration, look for skincare products that contain ceramides, glycerin, or hyaluronic acid.
  3. Use lukewarm water, stay away from hot temperatures, and use gentle, muted cleaning products.
  4. Apply sunscreen that is broad-spectrum and has an SPF of 30 or higher.
  5. Make sure you get enough water each day — at least eight glasses.
