5 Face oils you should try in 2024

Just like your serums, moisturisers and other skincare products, face oils play a huge role in your daily skincare routine.

Beauty hub Byrdie, states that, while many beauty experts have advised against using products containing oils because too much oil can block your pores, choosing the right face oil for your needs and preferences can have many benefits. These benefits include healing a damaged skin barrier and achieving a long-lasting glowing complexion.

Founder of Woods Copenhagen, Martin Lyne says, “Face oils are occlusive ingredients that create a physical barrier to trap moisture. When it comes to layering, it’s moisturiser first, facial oil second.” He adds that you should not start your skincare routine using face oils as the products that follow after won’t be able to penetrate through your skin as they have large molecules.

Various beauty hubs provide 5 face oils you need to add to your cart in 2024:

  1. Bio-oil skincare oil: This face oil is not only popularly known to remove stretch marks but is good for hydrating the skin. Byrdie adds that it contains vitamins A and E and its ingredients work well in repairing damaged skin cells making it a good option for post-acne skin.
  2. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Therapy Oil: Cosmopolitan states that this therapy oil will not hurt your pocket, adding that, it soothes the skin and helps with bringing down inflammation around the skin.
  3. The Ordinary Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil: Beauty expert, Krupa Koestline, claims that this face oil is gentle on the skin and people with sensitive skin can use it.
  4. Kiehl’s Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil: Vogue suggests using this face oil as a way to combat breakouts, as its healing potents help reduce redness in the skin by soothing the skin.

  5. True Botanicals Pure Radiance Oil: According to Cosmopolitan, this face oil is ideal for sensitive and dry skin types as it reduces wrinkles and fine lines in the skin. The beauty hub advises using the product as the last step in your nighttime skincare routine.
