If the latest news about Zolisa Xaluva is anything to go by, Smoke and Mirrors drama lovers will soon see him play the ruthless Caeser, a role formerly his, but later given to Hlomla Dandala on the second season of the popular eTV drama series.

After the end of season one, Smoke and Mirror fans were disappointed to hear that Zolisa would not be returning for the second season sharing that award-winning actor Hlomla Dandala was too soft for the role.

In an interview with SowetanLIVE after rumours of him being fired surfaced, the actor who had finished his season one contract term said, “The contract for season one has ended, so the word fired is incorrect.”

It later emerged that the former Generations actor was coming back to the drama series as viewers were calling for his return.

When interviewed by TshisaLIVE Zolisa shared that Smoke and Mirrors viewers were asking for his return whenever they see him, adding, “Every time I step outside, I’m faced with a, “why did you leave or when are you coming back?”

The actor reflects on the kind of impact he has had on the series while playing the character Caeser, something he did not take for granted.

He also cleared the rumours that he was fired commenting, “My departure from the show was a business or rather contractual one. It was never personal. I’m a businessman, if business is done right, I’m keen to play.”

Well, it now looks like both the actor and the drama series creatives are ready to unite again as Zolisa is set to not only resume with the Caeser character but also to work as a director on the series.

A highly placed source told local publication ZiMoja, “He is now also playing the role of creative director behind the scenes and mentoring young on set.”

When the publication contacted the series executive producer Luzuko Nodada he claimed no knowledge of the news.
