Miss World South Africa winner Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg finds herself in a good headspace following her early exit from the finale this weekend.
All eyes turned to India, as the country recently hosted the 72nd Miss World pageantry competition. Representing South Africa was nineteen-year-old Pretoria-born model Zoalize, who was previously crowned as the youngest Miss World South Africa at last year’s domestic pageant in October.
This came after she managed to sweep judges off their feet with her Beauty with a Purpose project called ‘Never Too Young to Advocate’, which focuses on global visibility as well as audibility for the youth.
She previously explained that the digital platform focuses on three essential pillars, namely, to educate, graduate, and advocate, allowing youth to integrate into positions of acknowledgement.
Zoalize has spent nearly an entire month in India, where she has continued to serve young people through various charity initiatives within the country, and this past weekend was her big moment. Despite showing all the qualities needed to attain the Miss World crown, it turned out not to be, as Thailand’s Opal Suchata was crowned, while Zoalize missed out on the top 40.
Since missing out, she has been in a good space. In a recently removed Instagram story, she wrote:
“I can’t wait to come back to our beautiful country. I see all your messages, I feel all your love, and I appreciate you all. We might not have gotten the result we expected, but never let this break our spirit.”
