Producer and singer Zakes Bantwini is over the moon after he bagged his first Grammy win.

Zakes, Wouter Kellerman and vocalist Nomcebo Zikode won the Best Global Music Performance award for their hit Bayethe at the 65th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, California.

Zakes took to his social media to thank everyone who has supported him saying:

“Took me 15 years to find my path, I stayed true to myself & my dreams, despite all the hardships that presented themselves. I have no words to express the emotions and grace that have come over me. This moment is owed to my late Mother and Father. Your efforts, sacrifices and lessons you handed down brought out the very best in me. I’m grateful…”, he wrote on his Instagram timeline.
