‘You must keep searching,’ says Cyril Ramaphosa to unemployed graduate

by Bongiwe Mati

A video of the Republic of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa advising an unemployed graduate named Slindokuhle Khoza who shared her unemployment struggles with the president left the internet in shock, with many saying the president does not care about the struggles of black people.

The president has been busy moving through different provinces of the country to campaign for the upcoming seventh democratic elections set to take place on the 29th of May.

While walking with Slindokuhle who wore an ANC t-shirt in Orange Farm, the president asked:

“What did you study?”

She responded by saying she studied BA in Communication. The president went further to ask the young lady her age, to which she replied saying she was 23.

“So you’re looking for work now?” He went further to advise her to register on the mobi-job portal.

Speaking to the Sowetan, Slindokuhle shared: “I regret the way that conversation went. I felt disappointed when he said I should keep looking because I had been looking and I told him that. I was crushed.”
