Yanga Sobetwa speaks on finding love, ‘We did it God’s way’

by Sergio Miller

It has been just over a month since the Idols SA winner Yanga Sobetwa and her husband, Ntsako Khoza, tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony in Krugersdorp, and they continue to blossom now, more than ever.

The happily wedded couple got engaged in April this year, around the same time she celebrated her 24th birthday. At the time, she took to Instagram announcing the news by captioning her post, “God can. God did!” and within a span of a few weeks, they officially uttered their vows.

Since then, their faith has continuously been the foundation on which their relationship is built, and according to Yanga, a Godly relationship is the most important thing.

In a recent interview with the Daily Sun, the young gospel artist candidly opened up about the last six months of 2025, and her relationship with God, as well as her journey of being young and married.

She explained that the key to any marriage is to die to self and serve one’s spouse.

She went on to explain that after exiting a difficult relationship, she knew what she wanted in her next relationship. So when she met Ntsako, she told him she wanted marriage and gave him two years to get himself in order.

“Abstaining is not easy. You have to do it for yourself. I don’t see how people can date for a long time and still do it in a Godly way. If you do it that way, there has to be a set time and expectations of where you are going.”

She admits that while their were challenges along the way, putting God at the centre has been the secret.
