American actor Richard T. Jones has been announced as an international guest at Comic Con Africa this September. Visitors can catch the actor every day of the convention weekend.

Richard T. Jones is coming to SA
The Why Did I Get Married star is scheduled to visit South Africa for the first time from 25 to 27 September 2026. As an international guest at the Comic Convention, fans can expect a meet-and-greet and an autograph. The convention will be held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre.
More about the actor’s career
The Rookie star has had an extensive career in Hollywood. He is best known for his role as Mike in Tyler Perry’s romance drama trilogy, Why Did I Get Married?. Richard’s breakout movie role was as Ike Turner Junior in What’s Love Got to Do with It?.
For 33 years, Richard has been in a variety of TV shows. He appeared in shows such as Ally McBeal (1997), CSI: Miami (2006), Girlfriends (2007), Grey’s Anatomy (2010), Hawaii Five-0 (2011–2014), Narcos (2015), and Criminal Minds (2017).
He’s also had great success as an actor, featuring in films such as Full Court Miracle (2003), as Laveinio ‘Slim’ Hightower in Rick Famuyiwa’s coming-of-age film The Wood (1999), and Captain Russell Hampton in the Hollywood blockbuster Godzilla (2014).

What to expect at Comic Con
Comic Con Africa is an annual comic book convention where gamers, comic book readers, and anime fanatics come together to experience their niche interests in community. The regular things to expect include the Artist Alley, the main stage, an unparalleled shopping experience, international celebrities, esports, daily casual cosplay competitions, and panels.
There are also cosplay competitions, gamer stations, and merchandise vendors. This year’s installation includes cinematic experiences, where selected moves will be shown at the convention. The movies include: A Samurai in Time, Forgotten Island, and The Boy and the Beast, throughout the weekend.
