Watch: President Cyril Ramaphosa dances to Mnike

by Staff Bona

Tyler ICU’s song Mnike has taken the world by storm, especially TikTok where a dance challenge by TikToker @ro.makka had been choreographed. The dance has been performed by many and was most recently attempted by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

A clip of the South African leader jamming to the viral hit was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by Head of Digital Communications in the Presidency of the Republic of South Africa, Athi Geleba. Although he did not land the moves, Mzansi still enjoyed his performance, with others finding his moves cringeworthy.

However, many had a problem with the fact that the President was in good spirits with all the turmoil the country faces.

Nothing irks me more than seeing this one and his friends happy. https://t.co/Fn2aUm3SDU

This is funny and strangely heartwarming, we all deserve a light moment once in a while. I won’t comment on the state of government or leadership, that will take a different trajectory. https://t.co/FfZd88O6x3
