House music icon DJ Oskido has recently set the record straight about his non-existent showdown with amapiano sensation, Njelic.

Rumours of a rift between Oskido and the amapiano prodigy sparked a wildfire on social media recently. It all began with a viral TikTok clip, where the Kalawa Jazzme boss addressed an unexpected showdown with a fellow performer.

“I mean, I just came in now, trying to play my last song. One DJ is trying to push me out,” he said.

Following this, mzansi quickly put two and two together. The rumour mill ran wild with speculation of a feud between the house veteran and the amapiano maestro.

Here’s what they had to say:

@sandza_3: “So Njelic must arrive late for his next gig because of Oskido?”

@ntate_tshepo: “Was Oskido play over his allocated time..if yes, Njelic did a good job.”

@aylo_sa: “Oskido must respect other artist as well. You can’t be take 10min while you had your full set…No one can push you without finishing your set.”

@mind.your.business441: “Hai Oskido is old now he must chill let the young boys take over.”

@makhethanidrivingscool: “He must respect the legend, Oskido achieved many things which Njelic he’s not going to achieve.”

Upon seeing the rumours floating around, Oskido and Njelic took to Instagram, dismissing the claims altogether and finally laying the gossip grapevine to rest.

In a clip posted to Oskido’s timeline, the pair were seen in all-smiles, explaining what exactly had occurred. Oskido even joked about how the original video got snipped, to stir up trouble.

“Let’s clear this fake noise #Njenje ,” read the caption.
