Capetonians were left shocked after a Durbanville bicycle shop, Knipe Racing, was targeted in an armed robbery shortly after opening on Tuesday morning.
“As most of you are aware (and have likely seen the video doing the rounds), we experienced an armed robbery at our shop this morning,” Knipe Racing posted on social media.

The shop said staff remained unharmed and thanked the community for its support, adding that the business would continue operating despite the incident.

According to The South African, police said two suspects entered the Lilie Street store just before 06:15, held employees at gunpoint and fled with two bicycles. A single gunshot was fired during the incident, but no injuries were reported.
Authorities confirmed an investigation is underway, with Sergeant Wesley Twigg urging the public to provide any information that could assist the case.
