Dr Ziphozenkosi Nzimande, the wife of award-winning gospel singer Dumi Mkokstad, candidly shared the infertility struggles she experienced  before her two-year-old son, Neyame, was born.

She shared her testimony in celebration of her son’s birthday, and to inspire other women who may be trying to conceive. She highlighted that it was not an easy journey to her pregnancy, and that she was under a lot of pressure from her family, in-laws and social media.

Dr Zipho took to her TikTok to share a series of video clips where she revealed the challenges she faced.

“It’s my son’s birthday today. I’m a mess because I remember when I was pregnant with him. I couldn’t believe it… I struggled to fall pregnant; I had infertility issues.”

“We tried a couple of times. We were getting a lot of questions from family, in-laws and social media; there was so much pressure. Dumi has other children, so everything was pointing towards me.”

In an emotional and heart-warming video, Dr Zipho shared her relief and gratitude after undergoing surgery, and after intense prayers, she finally welcomed her first child, Lenani.

“I was content with Lenani, I was happy. I always wanted lots of children, but I was like, clearly it’s not my portion, and when I found out I was pregnant with Neyame, I was so thankful.”

“I didn’t know what I did to deserve such grace to be able to have another child, so I named him Neyame because I want my children to remember to always lean on God,” she said.

“Please help me wish my incredible son a happy birthday. He is the light of our lives, he is beautiful, so smart, bubbly. He loves to laugh, and he just completes our lives,” added Dr Zipho.
