Self-proclaimed hustler and deejay Sbusiso Leope, professionally known as DJ Sbu, got candid about his financial woes in one of his videos, revealing that he owes the taxman millions.

A snippet of the video, shared by entertainment commentator @ThisIsColbert on X (formerly Twitter) sees the businessman share that he lost a business and accumulated debt due to the hardships he had undergone during COVID-19.

“Right now, I’m sitting with my own tax issues … I owe SARS [South African Revenue Service] millions. It’s been difficult because of the decisions one has made,” said DJ Sbu. “It’s entrepreneurship. You try some, you lose some, you win some, you succeed in some, you fail in some, it happens.”

He continued, “I’m sharing my own testimony so that you can understand that you are not the only one who is going through the most. You might just think it is great to be DJ Sbu.”

He then revealed that he is not making millions of rands or “even a single cent” from his energy drink, Mo Faya. “I have even made peace with the fact that this [Mo Faya] is not mine. This is the future of my children.”

“I’m in debt right now, I owe SARS millions, I owe people millions…” ???

DJ Sbu says he’s still recovering from what he went through during Covid-19, he lost a business. ?
