A video of award-winning artist and Inkabi Records owner, Siyabonga Nene, famously known as Big Zulu visiting the Newsroom Afrika studios recently surfaced on social media with the artist addressing the broadcasting station on how to welcome guests during the live interview.
The Imali Eningi singer who had to wake up very early to get to the studios, could not believe when the news channel did not offer him and his team tea or coffee, only giving them bottles of water.
After sharing the platforms where his album could be found, the singer added:
“But there’s something I’m complaining about my sister, you know. We arrived here in the morning, we didn’t even get tea. They didn’t make us tea and cookies but we woke up early and had to come here. I am sincerely asking you my sister that the next time we arrive, please offer us even those cappuccinos that are sold at the garage and those small round cookies so that we can have something in our tummies and not water in the morning.”

Internet users were quick to comment after seeing the post, with many saying it is a human thing to offer people refreshments when inviting them to your premises.
“He was not hungry and thirsty, it’s basic human decency for an artist to feel welcomed when doing interviews. He did well by telling them,” said one user.
One person who works in the industry commented, “He’s right, but as someone who works in the entertainment industry, chances are he may have been late so there wasn’t time for this.”
“For me, it was an opportunity for the presenter to apologise on behalf of Newsroom, I know she was caught off guard by that statement but to laugh is not cool. Next thing they will say people are Diva’s for not wanting to come for interviews,” said another user.
