Last night was a magical day for many South Africans as our boys, Bafana Bafana, beat Morocco to qualify for the AFCON quarter finals held in Ivory Coast.

This victory is a big deal for our national team as it not only qualifies them for the quarter-finals but, gives them brownie points for beating the number-one ranked team in the African continent, Morocco.

Over the years, many South Africans had lost faith in the national team with some jokingly suggesting that we use the Springbok’s coach to train Bafana Bafana.

The first goal of our 2-0 victory was delivered by Orlando Pirates striker Evidence Makgopa in the 57th minute, giving them a lead against the strongest team in Africa.

Moroccan player Amrabat received a red card after he tackled Teboho Mokoena inside the box. With the referee adding 10 minutes after the 90th minute, Teboho Mokoena scored the second goal with a free kick five minutes into the 10 added minutes.

In a true South African, celebratory style, the team performed entertainer Skomota’s famous dance that has taken social media platforms by storm.

After seeing the celebration dance, the internet reacted, expressing love and joy.

Bafana Bafana is set to play Cape Verde this coming Saturday, 3rd February.
