Singer and West Ink record label co-owner Bongekile Simelane famously known as Babes Wodumo left many social media users touched when she started sobbing on an Instagram Live, listening to her late husband Mampintsha’s song Ngekhe.

Babes lost her husband, fellow musician Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo on Dec 24 2022 from a short illness. Since then, Babes has randomly appeared on social media leading to social media users stating that she’s kept away to heal from her loss.

Anyone who knew of Babes and Mampinstha’s relationship knows how inseparable they were. If you saw one, it was almost guaranteed that the other one would be around. Even when making music, the two featured each other on many songs, leading to social media users calling them a duo.

Going Live on Instagram while in studio, Babes started shedding tears while the song played.

Shared by a local news hub MDN, they captioned their post:

“Babes Wodumo still miss Mampintsha so much??.”
