It is evident to us that the writers and production of Skeem Saam are determined to take the show to the very top as talks of it being the best soapie in the country have already begun. Industry giants Warren Masemola and Lesley Musina are set to join the Turfloop-based show.

Award-winning actor and former ‘House of Zwide’ star Warren Masemola is set to join the coveted show as Gopane, who according to the show, is a character originally from Turfloop who relocated to Johannesburg. His return to his hometown is triggered by the disappearance of his son Smaki.

” It’s absolutely beautiful. I actually feel like I’m in Limpopo. Being a city boy who grew up in Tshwane, the set of Skeem Saam makes me feel like I’m back with my people,” Warren says when asked about his experience on set so far.

Former Muvhango actor Lesley Musina is another addition to the already star-studded cast, and he will be playing the character of Fefo, who enters the scene as Melita’s former ‘entanglement’ and according to Lesley is a character who has more to him than what meets the eye.

When asked about being part of the show, Lesley says: “Shooting Skeem Saam is a dream come true. What an amazing production. Everyone is so welcoming here and I immediately felt at home when the cast, crew and production welcomed me with open arms. It feels like I’ve been here forever,”

Both characters are see to make their debut this November, and Skeem Saam fans are more than ready as they come down from another thrilling storyline that had Mzansi divided in the middle. Furthermore, some have given the show props for its edutainment value, and their ability to touch on important issues and topics in enjoyable and entertaining ways.
