Vuyo Zungula relieved of duties as ATM president to focus on Parliament

by Staff Bona

The African Transformation Movement (ATM) has announced that Vuyo Zungula will step down as party president to focus on his parliamentary duties.

He is being replaced by Professor Ceaser Nongqunga, the chief apostle of the Twelve Apostles Church in Christ.

The party’s leadership believes this separation of roles will strengthen their efforts, with Zungula concentrating on parliamentary work and Nongqunga focusing on expanding the party’s reach.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to President Zungula for his remarkable service over the past seven years. His visionary leadership has been instrumental in registering the party, advocating for the voiceless, and firmly establishing the ATM on the political landscape of South Africa,” the party said in a statement.

It added: Under president Zungula’s stewardship, the ATM has grown from its modest beginnings to a formidable force.

Zungula’s role in holding President Cyril Ramaphosa accountable over the Phala Phala scandal is credited with helping the party grow from two to six seats in the recent elections, according to EWN.
