by Adrian Brown
Vusi Thanda financial support

Living Legend and Icon, Vusi Thanda is in need of generous South Africans.

Vusi popular for his “As far as I am concerned”  line on the famous Emzini Wezintsizwa , SABC 1 comedy show is asking donations from social media users.

An emotional video of him is circulating on the streets of social media where he was begging for financial support.

I have just encountered this video on Facebook.

This is Mr Vusi Thanda who seems to be in search of assistance.

In the video he has his bank card visible and reads out his bank details for those who may be able to help.

The video touched many who shared the video with the hope that more people will be able to assist.

A social media user said, “Let’s help the old man, the legendary Vusi Thanda. As far as am concerned, your help will be highly appreciated Mzansi. Let’s spread the love.”

However, there are some who are worried about Mzantsi celebrities because he is not the first icon in South African  to plead on social media platforms for financial assistance.

“@NathiMthethwaSA uBaba Vusi Thanda has contributed to the arts immensely through his acting on Emzini Wezintsizwa & recently, The Queen. You went to Shona’s funeral, akere? Instruct your team to get in touch with him. We’ve just come out of a pandemic & our talent needs support!” wrote Kgosigadi.

Vusi, has received some support from his fans in a form of money, and thanked fans who donated to assist him in these difficult times.

Baba Vusi Thanda, my own father who is late now was a big fan and loved Muzi Wezinsizwa. In fact we all did, that program broke down the tribal differences and portrayed the harshest reality of migrant works in Johannesburg. I hope this contribution makes a difference eKhaya. https://t.co/51sCzgxs2j pic.twitter.com/aNFdj87c65
