South African pop singer Vusi Nova is confident that he has what it takes to one day establish himself as an actor.

In a recent interview with local entertainment publication Daily Sun, Vusi confessed that breaking into the film and acting industry was not as easy as he thought it would be.

While several musicians may have been successful in making the career transition, he explained that being famous doesn’t open doors automatically, instead you need to prove yourself.

This has motivated Vusi to start attending acting classed to hone his skills.

Speaking to the publication he said:

“I love acting. As a popular artist, I thought it was going to be easy to find an acting job. This is because I have seen famous people get offers, some go to auditions and get call backs.

“I thought my fame was going to influence the whole process, but it was the opposite.”

It said that the singer participated in a variety of different auditions, from portraying the role of pastors to thugs.

He explained that one should be able to do anything.

Although many of these auditions were not successful, he finds inspiration from the many qualified actors who have also been rejected, yet made it in the end.

“Failure doesn’t discourage me.

“I’m certain and positive that one day, my fans are going to watch me on the screens.”
