Mayhem has ensued in Pimville, Soweto, as community members continue to gather around Maponya Mall. This comes after a violent incident, allegedly involving taxi association members and some e-hailing drivers, left two injured and one dead.
The gates of Maponya Mall remain shut since the unfortunate incident where an e-hailing diver lost his life, and two others were left injured in public. According to African Insider, four men walked up to the e-hailing vehicle, shot the driver and set the car alight.
UPDATE: Two Uber drivers were reportedly burnt alive near Maponya Mall in Soweto, Johannesburg. The attack occurred around 8 pm, with both victims believed to have died inside their vehicles. The motive remains unknown as police continue their investigation.

A mini bus has also been set alight, allegedly in retaliation, as community members express frustration towards the taxi association. These members highlight that this issue is not a new one, but rather one that has been plaguing them for some time now.
