After the SAPS cleared his name of any involvement in the horrific murder of Olorato Mongale, the story of Fezile Ngubane has caused a stir, as members of the public continue to go back and forth regarding his innocence on the matter.

The story of Durban-born Fezile Ngubane has brought social media into a frenzy, as he quickly went from a suspect of a gruesome crime to an innocent man who fell victim to a dangerous crime himself. This comes after he was named as a suspect in the gruesome murder of Wits student Olorato, prompting him to hand himself over to the police.

This is when it was revealed that Fezile was targeted by Philangenkosi Makhanya, who took his identity card and used it to RICA a SIM card that he would use to coordinate a myriad of crimes, including setting up the date that resulted in the hair-raising murder of Olorato.

As a result, Fezile was cleared by the SAPS of any involvement in the matter by the police

#sapsHQ [OLORATO MURDER CASE] UPDATE – The South African Police Service (SAPS) wishes to inform the nation that Fezile Ngubane who was initially identified as a suspect in a syndicate targeting young women has been cleared.

After learning about Fezile’s story, some internet users could not help but empathise with him, as they highlighted what a traumatic situation he had unexpectedly found himself in. As has become the new norm, these users suggested that those who can get hold of him do so and let him know that they would like to provide him with financial support. As Fezile has opened up about his troubles with drug use, these users have gone to the extent of checking him into rehab.

South Africans we need to come together and help this guy Fezile Ngubane stop using Drugs, after that get him a job to have a better future, He deserves everything good in life 👏 💙 Lets Unite and help him

However, others have come out to express confusion as to why Fezile is being treated like a victim, revealing that they believe that although he was not involved in the murder and other crimes, he enabled Philangenkosi to carry out his crimes by selling his ID card to him. These users believe that the Durban native should face some jail time

He must face some kind of punishment for selling his ID. I sympathize with him for being falsely accused but people who sell their ID’s are enablers of these criminals

Fezile Ngubane must be arrested for selling his ID documents. It was not stolen; he received money for selling it.

If you are struggling with my submission, just imagine the uproar if it were a South African woman who sold an ID and received money for it, and later the buyer…
