‘Unreleased music’ at stake as Tira increases reward to R25K

by Sergio Miller

Talented record producer, Mthokozi Khathi popularly known as DJ Tira is on a desperate mission to retrieve the lost assets that disappeared from his studio on Wednesday 24th April.

The No Rush hitmaker was victim to a burglary after a group of thugs entered his Afrotainment studio and stole an entire collection of valuable equipment from the studio, leaving the premises in a catastrophic state.

For DJ Tira, this is a lifetime amount of work that has all been stolen in a matter of minutes.

In desperation to retrieve his lost assets, he is now appealing to anyone who has information about the whereabouts of his items or knows who the culprits are who stole it, to please come forward. In return, he would be providing the person with a reward of R25 000.00.

The biggest of his assets are his hard drives which contain multiple unreleased songs.

Speaking to local news and entertainment publication Daily Sun, he said the following.

“The hard drives have unreleased music, and if we can’t get them back, it’ll be a big problem.

“We lost everything in the studio, and we want it all back but what I need more are the hard drives because that’s where we save all our work. It’s like our engine when we work.”

He explained that it was heart-breaking what the thugs did to him.”

According to a report by the Durban North Police, the suspects entered the premises both by door and window. They stole both equipment as well as an undisclosed amount of money.

“Anyone with information, please come forward,” pleaded Tira.
