Amapiano Dj sensation, Uncle Waffles stays in her bag, the Dj announced her collaboration with KFC on her Instagram this morning.
Introducing, the Uncle Waffles burger! It is a crispy KFC fillet in KFC’s secret herbs & spice flavour, dunked in maple chipotle sauce and served between two warm waffles. This is a first of it’s kind collaboration in the country as no Dj has ever collaborated with a food brand in that capacity before.
The star’s comment section was filled with industry peers and fans congratulating her on such an ‘on brand’ collaboration and praising its authenticity. One user even advised her to open a Waffle House in South Africa.
Waffles rose to fame in October last year when a video of her dj’ing and dancing went viral with the phrase ‘people are burning’, she has been unstoppable since then. She once narrated how a gig she was not booked for changed her life. Waffles was not booked to Dj at the gig but the booked Dj never showed up and she happened to be there, grabbed the opportunity and is now an international Dj.

On the 29th of March 2022, Waffles released her E.P following the success of her hit single, ‘Tanzania’. The visuals for ‘Tanzania’ hit 1 million views in three days. She also bagged an endorsement deal with Sprite and Jagermeister earlier this year. Her ‘c0-sign’ from international rapper, Drake, had social media in a frenzy. Drake reposted a clip from Uncle Waffles’ stories on his own Instagram account which was considered a co-sign in the music world.
If this year is anything to go by, we should expect to see more from Uncle Waffles in the near future.
