For years, reunion episodes have been the moment where reality TV finally says the quiet part out loud. Now, Africa is stepping into that spotlight in a way the global franchise has never seen before.

South African media personality MaBlerh has officially been announced as the host of the very first reunion for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa. It is a milestone moment, not just for the show, but for the continent’s growing influence in global entertainment.

A first for the entire franchise

While reunion specials are a staple across many reality series, this is the first time any version of the Ultimate Girls Trip format will end with one. That makes the African edition a historic first for the international franchise.

The two-part special is scheduled to stream on Showmax on 20 and 27 February 2026, with television broadcasts following on Mzansi Magic on 21 and 28 February. The reunion is expected to unpack the tensions, drama, and unresolved moments that built up during the season.

The series itself premiered in late November 2025 and brought together an all-star group of Housewives from across the continent. Cast members represented cities including Durban, Johannesburg, Nairobi, and Lagos, placing African stories and personalities at the centre of a globally recognised format.

Why MaBlerh’s role matters

MaBlerh is no stranger to the Housewives universe. He has previously hosted reunions for local editions, which makes his appointment feel like a natural next step. This latest role, however, carries more weight.

Hosting the first-ever Ultimate Girls Trip reunion anywhere in the world is being seen as a career-defining moment for the presenter. He has made it clear that the conversation will not be softened for comfort, with a focus on accountability and honest dialogue between the cast.

That approach is part of what fans expect from a reunion. Viewers usually tune in for clarity, confrontation, and closure after weeks of on-screen tension.

Fans want every question answered

Online chatter around the show has been loud since the season aired. Many viewers have been calling for the women to address lingering issues directly, especially where conflicts were left unresolved.

There is a strong sense that this reunion is where the real truth finally comes out. With big personalities involved, audiences are expecting difficult conversations and moments that could reshape how the season is remembered.

‘Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa’ is getting a reunion ,making it the very first The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip reunion in the world, hosted by Mablerh.

A bigger moment for African television

Beyond the drama, the reunion represents something larger. The Ultimate Girls Trip format began in the United States in 2021, yet it is the African edition that is now pushing the concept forward with a full reunion special.

For many viewers, that signals how far African reality television has come. Local franchises have grown loyal audiences across the continent, and this crossover series highlights the diversity and shared experiences of women from different African cities.

It also places African storytelling firmly on the global stage, proving that locally produced reality TV can compete with international formats in scale, production, and cultural impact.

As anticipation builds toward the February air dates, one thing is clear. This reunion is not just about revisiting old drama. It is about Africa setting a new standard for how the Ultimate Girls Trip story is told.
