Mrs Wold Tshego Gaelae received a warm welcome from South Africans after clinching the historical win of the 40th Mrs World in Las Vegas, USA.

The Soweto-born attorney was recently dubbed the first black South African Mrs World, making Ishadi Amanda from Sri Lanka and Thailand’s Ploy Panperm the runner-ups.

Mrs South Africa who now won the Mrs World beauty pageant made her way home to South Africa, where she received a glorious homecoming from mzansi.

The Mrs South Africa organisation took to their Instagram to share the snaps of Tshego’s red carpet treatment at OR Tambo International Airport.

The organisation expressed their gratitude to the Executive Mayor of Johannesburg Dada Morero and the MMC of Community Development Kabelo Gwamanda, who also welcomed Tshego at the airport.

“From Soweto to the world, Tshego’s groundbreaking victory in Las Vegas — becoming the 40th Mrs. World and the first black woman to wear the crown—is a beacon of inspiration for South Africa and beyond. An attorney, leader, and woman of grace, she embodies the power of perseverance and purpose,” they said.

The Mrs World page also thanked Tshego’s family and close friends for being part of the welcoming experience.

“A heartfelt thank you to her family, friends, church, community, and the incredible Mrs. South Africa team, board, and alumni who came together in song, joy, and celebration. Your love and support made this homecoming truly unforgettable! Welcome home, our Queen.”
