Gender-based violence organisation Woman for Change has criticised renowned podcaster Macgyver “MacG” Mukwevho for his disturbing comments about Minnie Dlamini during a recent episode of Podcast and Chill.
During the episode, Mac G recently delved into Minnie’s recent breakup from her relationship with plastic surgeon Brian Monaisa. With there being so much uncertainty surrounding why the former lovebirds called it quits, MacG enquired about why it was so difficult for the television presenter to have a lasting relationship.
He later insinuated that it might be due to her alleged smelly private parts.
Taking to social media, the non-profit organisation heavily criticised his remarks, calling it a sign of toxic masculinity.
In a lengthy post, they wrote: “Women For Change is deeply disturbed by the misogynistic and degrading remarks made by MacG on his podcast regarding Minnie Dlamini. His comments are not only vile and dehumanising but also reflect the deeply rooted toxic masculinity that continues to endanger and humiliate women in South Africa.
The organisation added, “MacG’s podcast has consistently promoted harmful narratives disguised as entertainment, spreading sexual innuendos, encouraging victim-blaming, and perpetuating blatant misogyny. His platform is no longer just controversial, it is dangerous.”
Women for Change later criticised those who assist the podcast by means of monetisation and has said that they disregard the dignity, safety and humanity of women in our country.
“We call on sponsors, streaming platforms, and the public to hold MacG and his team accountable. Enough is enough,” the post concluded.
