‘Too many babies, and not enough weddings!’ Internet reacts to announcement of birth of Blxkie’s newborn

It appears the youngsters in the rap game know something that the rest of us don’t as hip-hop arbiter Sihle Sithole who goes by Blxckie recently welcomed the birth of his newborn with long-term partner Hermosa Lit.

The news comes not long after fellow artists Shane Eagle, A-Reece, and Nasty C, welcomed their bundles of joy.

The young couple, although mostly private, have shared glimpses of their love story with their supporters, both supporting each other through their respective endeavours.

Taking to Instagram, Hermosa shared clips of the new parents bonding with their little one with the caption, “A new chapter begins.”

Although they have not shared much information about the bundle of joy, such as the name and gender, the couple is excited and ready to begin their journey of parenthood together, as Blxckie commented “We’re parents dawg,’ under his partner’s post.

What is usually considered heartwarming news was surprisingly met with backlash from the public as South Africans have taken note of the ‘baby mama’ and ‘baby daddy’ trend that the youth have been endorsing, particularly with prominent figures as none of the rappers mentioned above are married to their partners but have had children with them.

Some users noted the serious need for a shift in the mentality of normalising pregnancy procreating outside of marriage.

Nah we can’t accept such and make it seem normal this is extremely bad and we should encourage these young ones to marry first before this kak

This rapper culture of having babies but no marriage in sight is irritating https://t.co/zGb2UxGzCw
