
What would be the significance of music awards without Lifetime Achievement Awards? The Metro FM Music Awards followed the tradition of honouring legends in the industry by awarding gospel Queen, Rebecca Malope and the legendary kwaito group TKZee with this notable award in celebration of their iconic impact in the industry.
Batsogile Lovederia Malope, better known as Rebecca Malope is a highly influential figure in South African gospel music, with a career spanning over three decades. As one of the best-selling gospel artists, she has released 36 chart-topping albums, sold millions of copies worldwide, and received numerous accolades, including 21 South African Music Awards.
She is popular for iconic songs such as Ngibe Muhle Nami, Ukuzenza, Angingedwa and Thethelela among others, recently she was one of the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Metro FM Music Awards, which were held at Mbombela, Mpumalanga.
Metro FM took to their Instagram page to congratulate Rebecca for receiving this award.

TKZee was also celebrated with the award that celebrates their impact in the music industry. The prominent kwaito group emerged in 1996 with their EP, Take It Eezy, consisting of Kabelo Mabalane, Zwai Bala and Tokollo Tshabalala who passed away in 2022 due to complications from brain injury sustained in a car accident in 2001, as members of the group.
The group earned recognition with four South African Music Awards which includes Best Kwaito Album, Best Duo/ Group, Best Single, and Best Kwaito Single. The group released popular hits such as Palafala, Shibobo, Dlala Mapantsula and Mambotjie among others. They recently received recognition and were honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
