International actress, Thuso Mbedu has revealed the cover art for her first comic book with Stranger Comics.

In December, The Woman King star signed a deal with Stranger Comics to write Niobe: She-Tribe, a new story in the publisher’s Tales of Asunda afro-fantasy series.

According to The South African, the story – co-written with Stranger Comics president Sebastian A. Jones – follows Tales of Asunda’s lead character, Niobe, as “she finds herself thrust into an ethical conflict when she encounters a tribal society that selects its new leader in a fight to the death. She finds herself up against generations of traditional customs or facing the idea of keeping herself hidden away from the world of Asunda.”

Thuso shared the exciting news on her Instagram with two cover artworks released for the “collab episode” by professional illustrator Caanan White and graphic illustrator Tehani Farr.

She captioned the post: ” The official @strangercomics x Thuso Mbedu collab episode cover art print is out! I’m soo excited! It’s real! It’s happening!”

According to Sunday World, the co-writer of the comic knew he had to work with Thuso because of her honesty and her modesty towards telling relatable stories.

“Upon meeting Thuso, I knew I had to work with her. Her honesty and modest genius hold a well spring of magical and relatable stories that need to be told…When we started brainstorming for the She-Tribe comic, Thuso breathed new life into Niobe and the vulnerable character relationships with such thought and care.”

“Thuso is a rare spirit who speaks of many lives lived, here and before, and I couldn’t be more excited to share with our fans what we’ve got in store for Niobe and Asunda,” Jones told the publication.
