Award-winning actress Thuli Thabethe joins Mzansi Magic’s Champions telenovela after the show was announced to not be returning for a second season.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the telenovela would be gracing mzansi’s screens featuring actors such as; Tumisho Masha, Kgomotso Christopher, Thembinkosi Mthembu,  Jo-Anne Reyneke, Kwenzo Ngcobo just to name a few.

According to news publication, SundayWorld, the actress famously known for her roles in Isibaya and City Ses’la will be joining the star-studded cast just after veteran actor Sello Maaka kaNcube has left.

Her character Nomula Modise, mother of two and wife to Philemon portrayed by Tumisho is a charismatic and down-to-earth woman who will return in hopes of reuniting her family, as she had been separated from her husband for a while

The news of the show being canned received a mixed reaction on X (formerly known as Twitter) as users felt that the series did not meet their expectations they wanted.

Taking to X, users shared their thoughts on the show not returning for a second season by saying:

Tshedza needs to do something if @Mzansimagic doesn’t want champions then they need to take it to another platform..the thought of not seeing Champions season 2 is devastating..there’s still plenty story to tell and character growth to see..
