Thuli Phongolo adds ‘singer’ to her list of talents

by Bongiwe Mati

Thuli Phongolo recently gave her followers a sneak peek at her soon to launch singing career. The actress, DJ and now singer posted videos clips of her in studio on her Instagram story which has since disappeared, the video clips gave just enough sound for her followers to hear her voice.

This new move by the actress comes shortly after Thuli deleted all her posts on Instagram following an allegedly assault by DJ Maphorisa. The pair has since sent out a joint media statement stating that they concluded to resolve matters privately through their management and legal team.

A second video shows the former Generations actress singing along a song that says, “imanxeba nxeba, injenje uthando lwakho nzolwenzani, injenje khon’usizi ngempela, namanje ndisalimele ngempela” (so heartbroken, what am I to do with your love? I’m still hurt and in sorrow).

It is not clear whether or not the song has any reference to what allegedly happened between Thuli and her rumoured boyfriend DJ Phori, as many call him.

Thuli followed the video clips with an Insta story a few hours later where she shared;

“Thank you so much for the love guys! The song really touched me as well, I can’t wait for you to hear it and this entire project soon!”

Excited AND NERVOUS! By GOD’s grace I hope it LANDS the way it should. A lot of passion and heart was put to it… and still going!”

The singer also added, ” The reaction on that short clip really overwhelmed me! THANK YOU for appreciating that smol-la-nyana (small) piece.”
