‘They said it would get easier’ – Lynn Forbes on AKA’s death

While many are still trying to grasp the reality that the award-winning South African rapper is no longer, many still hold onto his prominent soundtracks such as Jika, Sim Dope, Company, and  Fela In Versace to seek some form of comfort.

The passing of AKA is something the nation has not fully healed from, especially with no arrests being made for those responsible for his murder. AKA not only played a significant role in the entertainment industry but also served a huge purpose in the lives of his family and daughter, Kairo Forbes.

One of the strongest people we have seen have to handle the loss of AKA is his mother, Lynn Forbes. The South African inspirational speaker, influencer, and content creator has had numerous occasions where she has declared how tragic and heartbreaking the loss of her son has been.

Despite how catastrophic the loss may have been, Lynn has also been a mother to the rest of AKA’s friends and his fans the “Megacy.” Lynn has given both these parties words of strength with the hopes of continuing his son’s legacy.

Two weeks ago, Lynn took to Instagram to share the Mega Braai that the family hosted to honour their late son.

She captioned her post:

“Thank you to everyone who joined our family for The Mega Braai this year. If you didn’t get an invite or couldn’t make it, we love and appreciate you all the same. See you next time! ??Ⓜ️?.”

Showing that the journey of grief is not a linear one, Lynn recently took to Instagram to share a rather sad post of her late son.

With Christmas being in a few days. many families prefer the warmth of being surrounded by their loved ones, but for many who have lost family members, this will rather be a far fetched idea.

Speaking on the death of her son, Lynn took to Instagram to share, “They say it would get easier, that’s just not true for me. Why?”
