This weekend saw yet another one of mzansi’s acting veterans being given flowers for her impact on the world of arts and drama.
The legendary Thembi Nyandeni was recently honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 8th annual Gagasi FM Shero Awards.
In light of Women’s Month, the awards aimed to place a spotlight on South African women who have been pushing boundaries and excelling in the various spaces of expertise, from entertainment, music, and sport – all the way to science, technology, entrepreneurship, and community leadership in the province of KwaZulu – Natal.
Taking to Instagram the station shared a post honouring the Thembi for her contributions in the arts describing her as a woman who exudes power with every step she takes whenever she enters public spaces.
In the post, they wrote: “A prolific and legendary storyteller who has graced our screens and stages with memorable performances that have inspired many, while contributing to the legacy of storytelling in South Africa.”
