Popular for his role as Sambulo Zulu on the SAFTA nominated show The Wife, Sipho Ndlovu finds himself in a web of scandal as his girlfriend, Thandeka Mhlanga recently took to social media to claim that the actor assaulted him.

According to Thandeka, the assault occurred when she had decided to drive to Sipho’s house, as she was suspicious he lied to her in a conversation they had over the phone. She went to his apartment to confirm whether the actor had been lying or not.

Upon her arrival, she was denied entry by her boyfriend and was let out. “He blocked me from entering the house and he slapped and pushed me to the ground before throwing me out,” Thandeka narrates to ZiMoja.

Thandeka claimed that she opened a case at the Cosmo City Police Station, but she was still waiting for a case number.

The Isitha actor has come out to refute these allegations made by his lover. He spoke to Sunday World and said he had opened a case of harassment, crimen injuria, trespassing as well as defamation of character against Thandeka.

“We are dealing with someone who is bitter and wants to destroy my name with something so sensitive and serious like gender-based violence. You cannot use such just because you are hurt, and lie about being assaulted. She was caught on the wall.” Sipho says

The actor’s publicist Alexis Tshangana claims that Thandeka sustained injuries as she tried to climb over a wall during the scuffle. “There is video footage of this and there is a body camera from the security guard that was chasing her. He was just preventing her from falling. There was no assault whatsoever,” says Alexis.

Thandeka has since been arrested and is due to appear in court today. A case of common assault, crimen injuria, and defamation of character was opened against her.
