Mzansi, it’s time to get excited as the highly anticipated return of one of the country’s most popular reality TV shows, the Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD), etches closer. Let’s get into the real tea, who will we be gracing our screens, and who has been given the boot this upcoming season?

The rollout for the upcoming and highly anticipated fifth season of the RHOD is well underway, and as expected, there is much to talk about as viewers prepare for what’s to come. Nonku Williams has had social media buzzing, as a clip where she devotes her life to her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, once again, has gone viral. As long-time viewers, we’re all interested to see whether this is merely the reality star’s favourite chorus to sing, or if she will live by her word this time.

Although Nonku has become a must-see, it is important to know and be prepared for who she will be alongside in the upcoming season, as every season sees some cast members opting not to return, while some new members are welcomed into the chaotic set-up.

In exciting news, RHOD veteran Sorisha Naidoo is set to return alongside Ms Williams as the longest-serving member of the longest-serving Real Housewives franchise in Africa.

After a tumultuous two seasons on the show, Maria Valaskatzis will not be returning on season 5. Furthermore, the infamous Slee Ndlovu and her nemesis Zama Ngcobo, as well as Amy Thompson will also not be making their return this time. This begs the question of whether there will be enough spice and drama this upcoming season, as Sorisha seems to have lost her entourage.

Saving the best for last, the season will see the unexpected but highly favoured return of fan-favourite star Londie London. After featuring in seasons 2 and 3, Londie appeared as a friend of the show in the seasons that followed. This time, the singer and entrepreneur is back full-time, and viewers are dying to see what she has to offer as they have kept close tabs on her throughout the year.
