Since premiering in 2017, the first of-its-kind reality show, ‘Uthando Nesthembu’ which features Durban businessman Musa Mseleku and his polygamous entourage has wrapped up shooting for the eighth season of the hit show which will be ready to air on 22 January 2025.

Uthando Nesthembu is a distinctive show that follows Musa Mseleku as he tries to navigate life as a man with four wives and 10 children. The unique reality TV show has been extremely popular as it explores a controversial aspect of South African (Zulu) culture that has mzansi divided about whether or not it should be normalised and adopted by more cultures.

Over the years, mzansi has grown to know and love each of the four wives, with some more than others as their personalities and private lives have been on full display for all to see. As they prepare for the airing of season eight, fans have rushed to social media to reflect, discuss and dissect the previous seasons and everything that has happened to lead up to the highly anticipated offering.

The official images of the four wives MaYeni, MaNgwabe, MaCele and MaKhumalo have been released and fans are not holding back in voicing exactly what they think of each. First and second wives MaYeni’s and MaCele’s significant weight loss has been a massive talking point among fans, as well as MaNgwabe’s uncomfortable dynamic with Musa, as they reveal that they believe that she has had one foot out of the door for a few seasons now.

Conversations about a potential fifth wife have been a point of emphasis in the last few seasons, with Musa trying his best to no avail to convince his wives that wife number five would do more good than harm for the family. It will be interesting to see whether or not any strides have been made in this regard, and whether fans can ever expect number five to come around.
